Winter Fun!

Good Day To You!

As I'm sure you all know, I am a strong believer in having fun. No matter if it's rain or shine, I can almost always find some fun activity to do in my red hat with my red hat ladies. Now that the weather has become quite cold and snowy, the activities seem to be limited, but I won't let that stop me!

One of the best ideas that I have come up with for the winter months is ice skating. Whether you want to go to an indoor ice rink or skate outside at your local park, I'm sure you will have a blast doing it. Wear a purple t-shirt under your purple sweatshirt and finally a purple rhinestone zipper jacket on top. This way, you will stay warm, comfortable and stylish while you're outside in the cold.

Maybe you can find a local spot that displays gorgeous ice sculptures. There is a place close to my home that holds an annual ice carving contest. It is so much fun looking at the beautiful detail and appreciating the hard work that went into making these sculptures.

At night when the weather is bitter cold, stay inside with your red hat women for a slumber party. Wear your comfy purple pajamas and stay inside to watch movies and share stories. I think this would be the perfect ending to a fun-filled winter day.

Aretha Franklin's Headwear!

Red Hat Woman!

This past week I turned on my television to witness President elect Barack Obama be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States of America. It was a proud day to be an American as we witnessed history being created before our eyes.

Engaged in the the events that surrounded President Obamas inauguration speech, Ms. Aretha Franklin caught my attention with her powerful voice and elaborate headwear.

As a hat connoisseur, and advocate of elaborate headwear, I became instantly intrigued. This hometown hit singer engaged the crowd and televised talk shows with the topic of her hat more than her singing. And with a hat that fabulous, how could we not be talking about it?

Like the the motown singer, Designer Luke Song is also from Detroit, Michigan. His local family business received an overwhelming amount of attention and orders during the week of the inauguration.

Before the soulful singer finished her version of "My Country, 'Tis of Thee," phones at Mr. Song Millinery began ringing. By Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Song had sold hundreds of this one of a kind hat.

An oversized bow took control of the dove-gray chapeau that sat atop Aretha Franklins head. Trimmed with elegant Swarovski crystals, the detail was complimented by its unique design to create a piece of headwear that was truly show-stopping.

I wonder if Mr. Song has plans of making one in red. We can hope ladies!

Get Organized

Hello Red Hatters!

Lately, I have been trying to get organized. Sometimes it seems like my home and my life are so cluttered that I can't even think! I noticed that much of my precious red hat apparel, including my red hats, have been carelessly scattered across the bedroom floor and thoughtlessly thrown into the closet. This is not how I want to treat my delicate treasures, and I'm sure you feel the same. So let's get organized starting today.

One of the easiest and quickest ways that I have found to keep all my red hats in one place is by storing them in boxes when I'm not wearing them. If you find a large enough box, you will be able to fit even your most extravagant red hat inside. I own the Fancy Nancy hat which is big, bold, and beautiful. I found a box that will easily store this hat, along with many others.

It isn't a difficult task to organize your home. You will be able to breathe easier, and maybe even find that one red hat that has been missing since last year. So c'mon red hatters--now is the time to start re-organizing and taking back your space!

My Favorite Christmas Traditions

Red Hat Friends,

The Dishberry home was booming with holiday activity and traditions as I hosted the fun, holiday festivities for Christmas. One of my favorite holiday traditions consisted of my red hat sisters and I caroling throughout my neighborhood.

We always dressed up in cheerful red hat clothing and topped it off with a radiantly holiday inspired hat like the Red Velvet Tophat. I also added a hint of glitter to my red hat outfit with red hat rhinestone earrings and a red hat watch.

After we sang jubilant songs, it was time for us ladies to warm up with a red hat coffee mug full of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows. We also had fabulous red hat cookie cutter shaped decadent delights.

Red Hat Women, during the holiday season, gather your red hat chapter for some of your own holiday traditions. Learn about each others holiday rituals and collaborate to create a holiday tradition that your red hat chapter can completely claim as their own.

Enjoy the traditions of the Season Red Hatters!

Red Hat Christmas Gifts and Ideas

Red Hatters!

I just finished baking my one of a kind sugar cookies and the oven has radiated a luscious fragrant throughout my kitchen. With my red hat cookie cutters, creating cookies into fun size dresses, hats and tea cups is essential! Plus, decorating the red hat cookies with some red and purple sanding sugar adds a sweet touch.

These red hat treats always make the perfect gifts for my red hat sisters! For cookie protection and detailed presentation, I simple wrap each cookie in red hat treat bags and tie them closed with red and purple wraphia. A simple yet tasty red hat gift of goodness.

As a proud Grandmother, my favorite Christmas shopping to do is for my grandchildren! I'm not sure if the gift will consist of a cuddly soft animal or a mini tea set, but toys for children and teens are definitely at the top of my shopping list.

There are plenty of inexpensive purchases to embrace this gift giving season such as red hat apparel from the red tag sale, exclusive red hats, and red hat socks!

Happy Holiday Shopping Red Hatters!
